Mexico's largest food company Bimbo will invest 40 million pesos (€4.2m) in a power savings program, mainly in the areas of production and distribution, the company said in a statement last week.
Most of the savings will be reinvested in ecological projects such as reforestation, recovery and eco-productive projects in indigenous areas, Bimbo said.
In the production area, the company will invest 20 million pesos in the development of synchronizers for power plants, in order to become self-sufficient in electricity at peak times and reduce operational costs, the statement said.
