The journey to find the reasons behind food recalls this week takes us to USA, Ireland, Canada, Australia and Germany where we find allergen concerns and incorrect labelling prompting action.
29 November - Canada: Frères Magid Brothers Distribution is recalling some of its Hazella brand hazelnut spread because it contains almonds which are not declared on the label.
People with an allergy to almonds should not consume the recalled products which have been sold nationally.
Chocolatey Hazelnut Spread 150g (UPC 0 63517 01136 5) and Chocolatey Vanilla Hazelnut Spread Duo 150g (UPC 0 63517 01133 4) are affected.
There have been no reported reactions associated with the consumption of these products.
Product information was identified during the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's (CFIA) food safety investigation.
