Peco-InspX has opened a manufacturing center to provide space to assemble existing and new products including its recently unveiled X-ray inspection system.

The facility in Modesto, California is responsible for production of the Peco Controls products and major component assembly for the InspX ScanTrac product line.

Final assembly of ScanTrac X-Ray inspection systems is done at the Fremont, California location.

Build on capacity

Rich Cisek, chief operating officer at Peco-InspX, said all of its manufacturing is done in the US.

“We need more assembly capacity to support our growing Inspx X-Ray business and our revamped Peco Controls business,” he told FoodQualityNews.com.

“We fully moved in [in October] and we are at full operation [as] we moved out of our old Modesto facility and into something that is significantly larger.

“Beyond the new machine introductions, we are putting significant focus on making all of our machines easier to monitor and service.

“Customers continue to want machines that offer superior detection performance and that can do more and cost less to own.”

X-ray inspection launch

The firm recently launched the ScanTrac Allegro X-Ray inspection machine for industries including food and there are plans for a vision system and vacuum/pressure monitor.

The design of the Allegro is tailored to be versatile with an aperture that supports packages up to 10” tall and up to 18” wide, said Peco-InspX.

It performs multiple inspections with belt speeds up to 230 linear feet per minute.

It is available with hardware and software features to adjust maximum detection performance for each package type being inspected.

The machine inspects product from the top of the container and a detector array underneath the conveyor captures the X-Ray image.

“Our updated design features sloped surfaces for easy cleaning, and an intuitive layout that makes both using and servicing the machine simple. This updated design, coupled with a highly efficient 100 watt X-Ray tube gives Allegro the lowest total cost of ownership in its class.”
