Kiwa PAI has joined The Society of Food Hygiene and Technology (SOFHT) as a Supporting Company Member.

The certification body for the feed, food and farming sectors specialises in the meat sector with retailers and manufacturers and is the sole auditing body for the Assured Meat Processing Scheme.

It does BRC Global Food Standard Audits from Food to Packaging, Storage & Distribution to Agents & Brokers.

Supporting Company Membership was set up to get support of larger organisations within the manufacturing, retailing and related industries. It is the highest and most involved level.

It maximises the services provided to members, such as seminars and training events, market updates in food safety as well as the opportunity to network with industry colleagues.

John Clague, general manager at Kiwa PAI, said SOFHT is the ‘must join’ organisation for anyone in the food industry.

“This not only provides excellent networking opportunities and the chance to raise Kiwa PAI’s profile with key potential customers, but also gives us the opportunity to share best practice whether through training, breakfast seminars or events,” he said.

“Kiwa PAI has been a SOFHT member for several years but joining as an SCM will enable us to debate further with colleagues on current hot topics and become more involved in setting industry agendas in several areas.”

SAI Global has also joined SOFHT as a Supporting Company Member.

The assurance organisation provides retailers, manufacturers, government, farmers and caterers with assurance services and validation of operations.

Dawn Welham, global technical director at SAI Global, said: “SAI Global is delighted to become a SOFHT SCM which allows us to join forces with some of the best thought-leaders the industry has to offer and access market-leading developments in technology.

"This allows SAI Global to enhance our contribution to clients when helping them manage their food risk and towards improving integrity and food safety standards around the world.”
