Avure Technologies Food Division is to open a new site in Ohio due to demand for its high pressure processing (HPP) products.
The facility will be for manufacturing, engineering, procurement and customer service and operations are planned to start in Q3 2013.
Jan Söderström, president and CEO of Avure Technologies, said: “Establishing a North American manufacturing operation is a key step in building the global infrastructure to support the rapidly expanding market.”
Avure said the renovations to an existing 50,000 square foot site enable the production of HPP systems at the lowest possible cost to target food safety and all-natural food products.
“Avure will leverage the industrial infrastructure and the materials expertise found in southwestern Ohio to deliver a great product to our customers,” added Mark Morgan, director of food operations.
