Intertek acquires Food Safety Assessment
Intertek has acquired a food safety firm to expand into Africa to meet global demands on food quality and auditing.
The firm has bought FSA (Food Safety Assessment), based in Johannesburg, South Africa to provide auditing, certification and training services for food producers and manufacturers in the country and the Sub-Saharan region.
FSA will now deliver more accredited certifications in the region including ISO 22000 (Food Safety), FSSC 22000 (Food Safety), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) and Good Catering Practices, Workplace Conditions Assessment and others.
FSA’s clients will benefit from Intertek’s international food supply chain expertise and the firm’s portfolio of food and food packaging testing, inspection and certification services.
