Post a comment18-Mar-2013

bioMérieux has had its automated test for the detection of salmonella species granted Official Methods of Analysis (OMA) approval on food products and environmental samples.

The VIDAS UP Salmonella (SPT) test received the backing from Association of Analytical Communities (AOAC) International, including approval for 375g samples.

VIDAS UP Salmonella enables savings in media ancillary materials and labour time, while providing results in as little as 19 hours, said the firm.

“This recognition is a result of bioMérieux’s ongoing commitment in providing rapid pathogen detection methods to agri-food industries,” said Jean-Marc Durano, corporate vice president of the Industrial Microbiology Unit.

“Our solutions are designed to help food manufacturers and processors ensure the safety of their food products.”
