The European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST) has invited laboratories to participate in the development and validation of its disk diffusion method.
The EUCAST/ European Centre for Disease Prevention and control (ECDC) project will establish inhibition zone diameter epidemiological cutoff values (ECOFFs) for Campylobacter jejuni, C. coli and Salmonella spp.
To establish an ECOFF for an organism-antimicrobial agent combination, data from at least 300 isolates from three different test sites are needed.
The deadline for submission of quality control data is 16 May and for data for routine isolates it is 16 September.
