Laboratories are being asked to do more every day, said Leco Corporation, as it launched a GC Time-of-Flight (TOF) Mass Spectrometer.

The firm said the increased workload - more samples run, data acquired, chemical information processed and more results achieved - is in less time, for less money.

It added the Pegasus BT gives users data from a single sample run with a TOF-MS platform without additional laboratory support.

Leco claimed it will give users more uptime and richer MS chemical data.

The sensitivity helps find and quantify an unlimited number of analytes, while working with proprietary deconvolution algorithms to yield clean, high-quality spectra, said the firm.

Historical records of mass spectral components for each sample are retained for future data mining.

The StayClean ion source removes the need for source cleaning so time can be spent running samples.

Leco’s ChromaTOF software works with the Pegasus BT to process user data and remove the guesswork involved with analyte identification, quantification and reporting.
