Developing a sustainability strategy makes sense for food ingredients companies to ensure security of supply, to leverage brand opportunity in innovations, and to realise returns on investment in agriculture, says an Oxfam expert.

Dr Lea Borkenhagen, head of sustainable livelihoods strategy at Oxfam, advises ingredients companies to think long-term. She says there is a real opportunity for leadership and creativity in the sustainability space – but it is by collaborating and sharing learning through the supply chain that the movement will advance.
