Bandesur and AIMPLAS to develop microwave resistant foamed packages
The two-year joint project is funded by the national programme for research Retos - Colaboración 2015, for the development of sustainable trays for fresh food with packages manufactured from foamed PLA.
The development of a new generation of high-performance polypropylene foamed trays resistant to microwave heating will allow Bandesur, based in Alcalá la Real (Jaén), to become more competitive and enter the ‘fourth and fifth range’ food market, to diversify its business geographically.
AIMPLAS non-profit research association, in Valencia, Spain, is recorded at the Register of Technological Centres of the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
The institute is a member of FEDIT (Spanish Federation of Innovation and Technology Entities) and REDIT (Network of Technological Institutes of the Valencia Region).
