Food testing continued its positive momentum delivering double-digit growth with particularly strong market share in South America and Asia, according to SGS.
It benefitted from an extensive geographical footprint following investments made in the laboratory network.
SGS said revenue was up 14.5% across the business to CHF 5.6bn (€4.5bn) in the firm’s full year results.
Double-digit growth was achieved in all geographies other than Europe, helped by 18 completed acquisitions in the year.
The group also commissioned a flagship Food Safety and Cold Chain facility in India.
“SGS expects to deliver solid top and bottom line growth in 2013, notwithstanding continuing weak trading conditions in Europe.”
