SD Trading has had its produce licence cancelled by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
The importer of fresh fruit and vegetables located in Surrey,British Columbia, had its licence suspended in December.
SD Trading consistently failed to settle outstanding debts which is inconsistent with fair and orderly business practices and failed to address the required corrective action, said the CFIA.
There are no food safety concerns as the licence suspension is related to non-compliance with the Licensing and Arbitration Regulations.
The purpose of licensing under the regulations is to ensure that fresh fruit and vegetable dealers are financially sound and have acceptable business practices.
