St Ann’s Foods Inc. had its licence suspended on Friday last week after failing to correct deficiencies in hygienic practices that were previously identified through inspections, said the CFIA.
CFIA said that the firm presented an acceptable action plan that would have corrected the issues but were unable to demonstrate consistent and full implementation of the corrective measures within the required time frame.
“St. Ann's Foods Inc. is prohibited from operating this facility until they have fully implemented the necessary corrective actions and the CFIA is fully confident in the establishment's ongoing capacity to effectively manage food safety risks,” said the CFIA.
However, the agency said that there were no food recalls or reported illnesses associated with the suspension.
