Multiplex GMO Screening: a Unique 4-Target Real-Time PCR

Published:22-Apr-2010
Format:PDF file
Type:White / Technical Paper

The ever-increasing number of commercialized GMOs forces laboratories to apply many different methods of analysis. Screening methods help minimize analytical effort and pre-select for further tests (e.g. GMO quantification). A unique real-time PCR kit (detection limit: 10 target copies/reaction) was developed to detect the four most frequent target sequences used for GMO screening:

the 35S promoter of the cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV), the NOS terminator of Agrobacterium tumefaciens, the 35S promoter of the figwort mosaic virus (FMV) and the bar gene of Streptomyces hygroscopicus.
