Denmark foodborne illness seminar
Denmark is holding a seminar looking at the tracking of foodborne diseases in the country.

The National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark, the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and Statens Serum Institut will hold the event in Danish on 29 October at the University of Copenhagen.

It will look at how to handle national foodborne outbreaks in Denmark and how the work of detecting the source of a outbreak is carried out.

Two specific salmonella outbreaks will be reviewed in a bid to control and stop the outbreak, but also to learn and be better prepared for preventing similar outbreaks in the future.

Depending on their size and severity, outbreaks often require the active involvement of many institutions and authorities to launch a coordinated investigation, said the National Food Institute.
