Nestlé recall due to package mislabelling
A small quantity of Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection Shrimp Alfredo was inadvertently placed into packaging for Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection Chicken with Peanut Sauce.
The affected product is marked with a production code of 4165595911U and has a “best before” date of July 2015 and involves one hour code of production.
Three consumers who purchased the mislabeled product alerted Nestlé to the issue but no illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported.
Products were distributed to retail customers in Washington State, California, Louisiana and Texas, and can be found in the frozen food aisle.
“We apologize to our retail customers and consumers and sincerely regret any inconvenience created by this product recall,” said a Nestlé statement.
“We have advised the US Food & Drug Administration and the US Department of Agriculture of this voluntary recall and will cooperate with them fully.”
Last year Nestlé Prepared Foods recalled some of its Lean Cuisine Ravioli due to glass fragment concerns.
Three people reported finding glass in the product that was distributed throughout the country.
