Astell Scientific has launched a controller for its autoclave range.

The UK manufacturer of autoclaves and steam generators said it consists of a 5.7 inch touchscreen based on an industrial PLC system, combined with analogue and digital input/output modules.

Controller software developed by Astell for its autoclaves and sterilizers contains features designed to improve speed and management of load cycles including icon driven menu system, cycle selection, customisable access levels and password protection and a delayed start facility.

Autoclaves, also known as Sterilizers, must contain dry saturated steam.

The Astell controller allows sterilisation cycles to be monitored providing live progress updates and warning messages as required.

Historic data covering up to 5,000 cycles can be stored and viewed or downloaded via the USB port.

Dave Thomas, Astell sales and marketing director, said: “Bringing together years of unrivalled experience we have produced one of the best user friendly, fully automatic control systems that meets and exceeds the expectations of the most demanding laboratories and centres of sterilization.”
