ParTech has released an updated version of its food safety system.

The subsidiary of PAR Technology Corporation said PAR SureCheck Version 7.0 food safety.

SureCheck, introduced in 2009, is assisting companies to improve food safety and operational efficiencies in food service, with more than 300,000 temperature checks a day.

Five new features help increase productivity, flexibility scalability and robustness, said the firm.

Wayne Moffett, senior director of Software Engineering at ParTech, said the Temperature Measuring Device (TMD) and SureCheck Advantage (SCA) are an advantage over competitors.

“With SureCheck 7.0, in addition to addressing Food Safety requirements, we deliver additional Operation Efficiencies with the integration of easy Product Lookup and Weight Checks via Barcode scanning by way of our multi-sensor Temperature Measuring Device and SureCheck Advantage platforms.”

PAR SureCheck is a mobile client-based tool that provides checklist management for Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) food safety programs and employee-assigned tasks.

The SureCheck platform features the mobile application (running on Windows Embedded Handheld and iOS devices), a multi-mode wireless temperature measuring device and a cloud-based enterprise configuration and reporting server application.

Training partnership

Meanwhile, Magnifi Group and Food Safety and Quality Systems have partnered to provide online training to companies and individuals in the industry.

FSNQS has provided training to 7,000 food safety professionals and 150 companies.

It comes on the heels of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) - the first rule having gone into effect in August with three more in October.

The regulations lay down deadlines for companies to adhere to new manufacturing processes and requirements to increase food safety.

Andrew Wolpe, president and COO of Magnifi Group, said the partnership is a blend between onsite training and eLearning.

Wolpe added the partnership will focus on the delivery of eLearning to corporations including the technology, content and consulting support and the creation and delivery of standardized online courses for individuals to get credentials to gain access to food processing facilities.

Christina Kelley-Astorga, co-founder of FSNQS, said there's significant demand from the industry for FSMA compliance.

"Our partnership with Magnifi Group allows us to accelerate necessary training and ultimately automate the entire learning process; from the classroom to the manufacturing plant in real-time.”
