Conagra Brands, Inc. is recalling Hunt's Chili Kits due to Salmonella in the chili seasoning packet in the kit.

The chili seasoning used in the packet was from an unnamed supplier who informed Conagra Brands of potential Salmonella in a raw material used in the seasoning.

The seasoning uses chili pepper, minced onion, wheat flour, salt, spices, garlic powder and soybean oil as ingredients.

No Salmonella was found in the finished product supplied to Conagra Brands and no illnesses have been reported.

Hunt's Chili Kit 44.8oz with lot code 3534619500 and best before Apr 4, 2018, lot code 3534622200 and date May 1, 2018 and code 3534619600 and date Apr 5, 2018 are affected.

The product was distributed in retail stores, military commissaries and online nationwide in the US.

“Consumers who have purchased this item are advised not to consume it and return it to the store where originally purchased,” ​said the firm.

“Conagra Brands is cooperating with the FDA on this recall and is working with customers to ensure the packages are removed from store shelves and are no longer distributed.”
