Trade visitors up for analytica Anacon India and India Lab Expo
Trade visitors were up for analytica Anacon India and India Lab Expo compared to last year, according to organizers.

A total of 259 exhibitors from 11 countries showcased laboratory instruments and highlighted market trends in analysis, diagnostics and biotechnology for the 7,714 trade visitors.

Indian Analytical Instruments Association (IAIA) and Messe München India organized the analytica Anacon India Conference.

Government and academia are the largest buyers (40%) of analytical instruments followed by research and pharmaceutical industry, according to a Messe Muenchen India market study.

It also found that the Indian analytical instrument industry is expected to reach €2.4bn from 2012-20 at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 17%.

Dr Reinhard Pfeiffer, deputy CEO at Messe München, said India’s market for laboratory instruments, analysis, diagnostics and biotechnology is on the rise.

“This upswing underlines just how important our event is as a showcase for solutions to the current challenges being faced in the country, and as a forum for bringing together supply and demand.

“With our analytica network and its trade shows in Munich, China, Vietnam and India we are able to provide an excellent marketplace for our customers and enable successful business.”

The next edition of analytica Anacon India and India Lab Expo is in Mumbai and Hyderabad in 2018.

Meanwhile, Messe München has acquired the lab-technology trade fair Lab Africa.

This year’s edition saw 109 exhibitors present to 1,698 visitors from 12 countries.

Dr Pfeiffer said it is offering customers in the growth market of southern Africa a trade fair platform for market entry and development.

This will allow us to drive increased exhibitor and visitor promotion in the region for the international trade fair analytica, which takes place in Munich every two years.”

The first Lab Africa under the banner of Messe München will be in Johannesburg in mid-2019.
