Analytik Jena partners with technical institute on elemental analysis

The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing, BAM) and the firm will cooperate in the R&D of optical spectrometry in elemental analysis.

Research efforts will be on the creation of devices and applications for element determination.

They will work on further development of principles and methods of high-resolution absorption spectrometry to determine ultra-trace concentrations of atoms and molecules.

Ulrich Krauss, CEO of Analytik Jena AG said it wants to develop marketable products from a knowledge and transfer network consisting of clients with partners from research institutes.

“Within the framework of our research activities, it is important to us to network closely with partners from the scientific and user community and to involve these partners early on in the process of developing and implementing ideas.” ​

Krauss said globalization puts ever-increasing demands on the food and agriculture industry.

“Highly sensitive analytical instrumentation is key for reliable monitoring of food products along the food chain starting from agricultural production over food processing and packaging to distribution and consumption.”​

BAM develops and validates analysis procedures and assessment methods, models and standards and provides science-based services for the German industry.
