Chobani has recalled almost 85,000 cases of a variety of yogurt due to a labelling error.

Chobani 4-Pack Flip Key Lime Crumble is listed as gluten free when it actually contains gluten. Most Chobani yogurt products are gluten-free.

The list of ingredients and allergy statement on the overwrap of multi-packs and individual products inside disclose the presence of wheat, which is a known allergen, but the overwrap label erroneously states “No Gluten”.

For consumers with allergies or celiac disease consumption could lead to potential reactions. For those without wheat allergen concerns the product is safe.

The company was alerted of the error by a consumer but no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported. Product has been removed from shelves and destroyed.

Chobani said it conducted an audit of its portfolio to ensure no other errors occurred and is implementing stricter processes and systems to prevent similar errors.

Impacted dates are 27 January, 3, 8, 9, 18, 19 and 27 February and 3 March 2018.

All other products including 5.3oz single-serve Chobani Flip Key Lime Crumble are not affected.

Products were distributed to retail customers nationwide and in Puerto Rico between November 28, 2017 and January 16, 2018.
