SGS installs second Sciex TQMS

The firm said the move expands its analytical and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) capabilities for mycotoxins, pesticides and antibiotics testing.

Installation will increase efficiency of GLP services and complement the laboratory's existing 6500+, installed in 2016.

The 6500+ capabilities in detection, speed and performance will serve in analyzing compounds such as pesticides, mycotoxins and antibiotics.

Chris Skaggs, GLP manager, said clients continue to develop novel active ingredients for regulatory submission on such instruments.

The 68,000 sq. ft lab was officially opened in May last year and has seven germination rooms with temperature monitoring systems, ensuring traceability and centrally located sample receiving, acting as a hub to its eight labs, for faster processing.

Other equipment includes HPLC/MSMS (High performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry); GC/MS (Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrometer); ICP/MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometer); PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) and Thermo Fisher 5S Next Generation Sequencer and Ion Chef.
