FoodChain ID Europe will hold a food industry crisis event in Sutton Coldfield, UK next month.
The two day training event, on May 24-25, is designed to prepare businesses for managing crises such as a product recall or withdrawal and how to handle the press and brand reputation.
Day one will cover managing the supply chain, food fraud threat, brand protection, legal aspects of crisis management, managing retailers, legal and press interviews and insurance.
Day two will feature Stephanie Whitmore, director of Leapfrog Public Relations, who will cover how to handle the media in a crisis, putting together a crisis PR plan, the power of social media and case studies of good and bad practice. To book places follow this link.
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) has widened its annual food and drink awards.
Companies in the UK and overseas can now share success stories to occupational safety and health issues through the International Food and Drink Health and Safety Awards 2016.
The awards are organised by (IOSH) Food and Drink Group, with the Food and Drink Manufacture Health and Safety Forum in the UK.
The winner will receive a trophy, certificate and a cheque £750 and there are two runners-up prizes.

The Society of Food Hygiene & Technology (SOFHT) is holding a one day conference at the Holiday Inn High Wycombe, UK, in May addressing risks faced by the industry and how emerging issues can be tackled.
It will feature experts from SAI Global, SGS, NSF International, Cranfield Institute and Food Forensics.

The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) will be offering a three-and-a-half-day Food Safety Auditor training course during the AEC and HUD Healthy Homes Conference, June 13–16.
The training is designed to strengthen and enhance skills, knowledge and critical thinking attributed to a qualified auditor in the post-Food Safety Modernization Act environment.
It will be held at the San Antonio Hyatt Regency on June 10–12, 8am–5pm and June 13, 8am–noon. Registration is available in advance or on site.
Romer Labs UK is holding two allergen workshops this year.
The first is on May 4 at Yeo Valley HQ in Blagdon Somerset and the second at Romer UK HQ at The Heath Conference Centre in Runcorn Cheshire on June 1.
Each one day workshop will consist of talks and practical sessions about allergens. The cost is £50 per delegate. However the first 15 spaces at both will be covered by Romer UK.

Mérieux NutriSciences helped organize the symposium and Fu Meng, Mérieux, COO in China, was planned to present at the start and Dr Walter Brandl, technical director (chemistry) in North America to address “Horsemeat to Honey – Food fraud in the Modern Marketplace”.
