Mars Food North America is recalling almost 2,000 cases of Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice Garden Vegetable with Peas, Carrots and Corn pouch products.

Some pouches in the two affected lot codes were filled with a different product that contains barley, a non-wheat source of gluten, which is not declared on the product packaging.

The packets have a best before date of 06/15 and Made in Canada on the package.

Only lot codes 422GBBFP1L OR 422GBBFP1R and 423AABFP1L OR 423AABFP1R are affected.

“We have not received any reports of illness associated with this product, but we are voluntarily recalling this product out of an abundance of caution,” said the firm.

Mars Food North America also recalled one production lot of Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice Original Long Grain White Rice due to punctures in the pouch packaging in March this year.
