The food and beverage production industry is ramping up its innovation pipeline as a way of bucking the uncertain economic trend, Anuga FoodTec show director Peter Grothues told FoodProductionDaily.com at the event last week in Cologne, Germany.
The vice president of trade fair management said the higher number of exhibitors and floor space compared to the last show in 2009 was just one sign that the sector was in good shape.
The four-day event showcased an ever greater number of high-tech applications as innovations around automation, clean room and nanotechnology were in evidence among both the supporting programme and on the show floor.
The development of complete line solutions was also a noticeable theme, he added.
“The innovation power of this show is gigantic and is the place to be for anyone who wants to produce food and beverages in the future,” Grothues declared.
