We also covered many other outbreaks that did not make the gallery including three related to Salmonella: Tripod Farmers lettuce in Australia reached 144 cases, a total of 11 illnesses from Wonderful Pistachios in the US and sausage in Sweden leading to 39 people ill.
Listeria was behind a recall of 100+ items and nine illnesses from frozen vegetables produced by CRF Frozen Foods of Pasco, Washington and SunOpta recorded a $16m half-year loss from a sunflower kernel recall that affected dozens of snacking products.
Hepatitis A was responsible for an outbreak in Sea Port Bay Scallops (Wild Harvest, Raw Frozen) from the Philippines which sickened 292 people in the US, according to the Hawaii Department of Health (HDOH).
